Faith That He Will Provide

Faith That He Will Provide

Today's Devotional Scriptures:  Matthew 16:9-10

Do you lay awake at night worrying about your bills? Have you stressed how you will put food on the table? If so, you are not alone. Not only have millions of people been in your place, but God sees your need and is able to provide. The disciples got into the boat and forgot to bring bread. Jesus had to remind them that they needed faith that He will provide.

Do you not yet perceive? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you gathered?  Matthew 16:9-10

Learn How To Trust

We can get so focused on our immediate needs that we forget what has happened. That is what was going on with the disciples. They had forgotten bread for the trip, and Jesus reminded them that he had fed five thousand with five loaves and four thousand with seven loaves. He could take care of the twelve on this short trip. They needed the necessary faith that He could take care of them because things were only going to get tougher after Jesus left them. They needed to learn how to trust Him now.

Faith That He Will Provide

Do you struggle with faith? Is trust something that you struggle with? Jesus gives some great encouragement to His followers in this passage. Don’t look to your own means, and don’t compare yourself to others. Focus on Jesus and let Him provide for your needs. You will find that He is faithful in both the big and the small things. Put that worry aside. Cast your burden on the Lord and wait upon the Lord.
